Cameroon - Entering (Red car)
Cameroon border to Mamfe
We arrive into dense rainforest and a tropical rain storm. The crossing from Ekok to Mamfe is not possible in the rainy season and you can see the deep, deep ruts in the road from where trucks have tried. Some ruts come up to our window! The roads are dry enough even with the shower but it is a slow (and beautiful) drive to Mamfe. We immediately decide we love Cameroon although we aren’t sure if it is because it is not Nigeria or because of Cameroon itself. We stay the first night in Mamfe. There was much discussion over whether we should take a room with an aircon or a fan (we had similar discussions in Makurdi, Nigeria). In the end it doesn’t matter because there turns out to be no electricity (same in Nigeria)!
Bamenda
The drive from mamfe to Bamenda takes us on a poor road but through beautiful thinck lush rainforest. All the police just wave us through. We love Cameroon!!!
